Sick

I was counting my blessings. I hadn't gotten sick yet this school year. A personal record. Then it hit me on Friday. Woman Down. It is just a cold, but it is hitting me hard. and I don't have time for this.
I am working on fixing up our house. All those little things that you know are wrong, but you just live with them. I have a plan, and I figure that if I get one thing done each night, I should be done next year.

Not really, but it feels that way because the list is long.
I took Monday off and in between naps I ran to the hardware stores to get supplies. Then I started patching some walls. Plaster sucks. But it feels good to be getting ready to paint.

So much to do. The progress feels good though.

Good Mom\bad mom

We have been incredibly lucky in how healthy our children have been so far (knock wood).

When one of them has a chronic problem, one that isn't life threatening, just embarrassing, for over a year and you try different treatments, but there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or a reason to why or when those treatments work or don't work, Child and I both feel discouraged. It is hard. We fight. We celebrate the positive times.

But deep inside we both aren't sure that this isn't just luck, or a lull that happens to come along. We can't trust that even if we do what we are told by the experts, that things will get and stay better. I feel like a crappy mom.

After some bad days, I kept F home today and we went back to square one. We did what the doctor prescribed, and made some progress. It was great to have my decision validated it.
