Blog gone dark

Wow, almost 2 weeks without a post. What is this? 2006?

I'm busy. So busy at work and I'm loving it! I miss hanging out with my family all day, but I'm energized at work and can't wait to do what I know needs to be done. That means blogging has been on the back burner. It may be for a while. Lord I hope not, I'm such a nostalgic person, I need this record. Maybe I can cram some in over the weekend.

Not going legit #1

But I am gonna set the personal goal of a post a day for NaBloPoMo, the wimpy cousin of my husband's November project.

I realized that the reason I felt needed to take yesterday off work is because I'm not having as much fun lately. I lost the fun part because I changed one of the classes I work with and our teaching styles clash quite a bit. We'll get there, but it is hard. Depression has been looming.

This morning, when Relia had a bad dream, woke up at 4am, and I couldn't fall back to sleep, I decided to be proactive and got done a few work projects that I've been avoiding. It felt really good, and spurred a ton of productivity through the rest of the day. It is amazing how when I feel like I want to do nothing, usually that is when I most need to face my procrastination.

Going private

I'm feeling a little vulnerable about a couple of things, so I'm gonna try taking this blog private.

If you want access, email me at tefomaras at yahoo dot com before 10/19
If I don't know you IRL, let me know who you are.

(Those people that I know are currently on a super cool cruise vacation will get a special invite, so don't worry about them)

What's with the chicken?

Well, it's a goose, but there is a chicken in the background.

If you've ever been to my house, you may have noticed that I have plastic animals randomly placed all over the house. Occasionally, Relia notices them and asks to play with them. One day she wanted to play with the rubber geese & chicken that sit on top of our spice cabinet. She put the tea bag "blanket" on top of the goose, and I decided to take a photo.

I have been a little tired of my banner for a while now, and I was just looking through my photos for something that struck me as cute, as well as easily cropped to a long narrow ratio. That was my criteria. It isn't the best thing ever, but it is the change I was looking for. Soon, I'll probably figure out something new or get bored and go back to the old one.

Messin'

I have been looking at a lot blogs of people who blog for money and who pay other people to design their sites. I notice the cool features and then try to figure out how to put them on my blog. (proving I have too much time on my hands) Today I've been working on mouseover changes. I figured out how to make my blogger navigation bar at the top of my blog disappear unless you put your mouse at the top (go ahead, try it). I also learned how to make a photo change when you put your mouse over it:

put your mouse on the photo to see what I hope the buffet will kinda look like:

Liz- Ask and you shall receive

How do I post pictures?

You can now upload photos to your blog(s) using Blogger Images; just click the image icon in the post editor's toolbar.

When you click this icon, you'll get a window that allows you to select an image or multiple images from your computer. Click the Browse button to locate the ones you want. Alternatively, you can enter the URL of an image that's already online and insert it into your post.

If you click the link to choose a layout, you can customize the way your images will appear in your post:

The left, center and right options determine how the text of your post flows around the pictures. The size option lets you scale the pictures to different sizes within this posting area. Note that the picture will still be uploaded in its full size; this option just determines how it's scaled within the content of your post.

For Pat: To turn of crazy words in comments

Also known as word verification.

Click on the settings tab and then the comments tab:

Then, scroll down to "show word verification"
Choose "no"

Because word verification is to prevent you from getting SPAM comments, I would also go to the "basic" tab and scroll down to this:

Choose no for both to keep strangers from finding your blog by searching in blogger or any search engine like Google

Duh!

Every morning, I put a message up on the computer screen (projected on the whiteboard) for my kids. I've been using power point, and while it has cool backgrounds, it is kind of a pain to create a new slide every day.

as I was working on report cards this afternoon, it occurred to me that I could create a blog and just schedule posts that will automatically pop up at the top each morning!

I also like that I could update it from home if I were gone.

So, if you ever want to know what is happening in my class (I know it is on your mind constantly!), you can go to asenc208.blogspot.com.

Did you know

that in Minnesota as recently as the late 1940s, it was still against the law to murder a man, even with his favorite gun?

I'm having too much fun reading the comments on buzz.mn
I love "Lance Lawson Thursdays"

No offense,

All you people with music players on your blog, but please switch autostart to "no". I really do like to see/hear what you are listening to, I just want to do it in my own time. (Not when I am at work or trying to be quiet when my hubby is sleeping)

September 20, 2008

I put ads at the bottom of my blog just to see what would show up. It's an interesting summary of what is on someone's blog. Right now I have these:

Interesting combo huh?

(In two months I've made I've made $0.17! When I hit $100 they send me a check. Whah hoo! I can't wait for 2106)
