A day of thanksgiving for all cats. Its date depends on the sighting and capture of a mouse in the DeFor-M-tt household, but generally happens around the first of October. The mouse traditionally comes through a magical hole in the pantry. Sana waits for it all year long. Because she cannot tell time, she sits and stares at the hole fequently, hoping and praying that today is the day. I keep telling her, that if she isn't good, St. Muridae won't come. It doesn't usually help.
This year, this highest of holidays occured on October 3rd. It was Ozzie's first, and he could barely contain his excitement.
But, being the parents, we knew it was bed time and the fun had to end eventually, so the new, most exciting toy in the world, was taken outside and given to last year's St. Muridae queen, Roxy.
For humans, this holiday is celebrated by going through, and cleaning out the pantry cupboards.
