For the longest time, The ice cream truck has been called the dancing truck. It comes by, playing music, and we dance.
Today while I was pulling a crapload of weeds, Relia was playing with a girl who was visiting next door, M. This is the first time that has ever happened -her actually playing with neighborhood kids, rather than just shouting "hi! hi! hi!". It is interesting, that the language barrier between a 2 year old and a Spanish speaking 5 year old is not an issue at all. Though Relia quickly began to be quite bossy with her new friend. Probably an exciting role reversal for Relia. Usually the big kids boss her around.
After a while M's dad asked M if she wanted some ice cream. Relia followed, and when I called her back, he said it was fine if she came along. It was so sweet of him to buy her a Bugs Bunny head on a sick, and he got me a cheerio (chocolate shell on vanilla on a stick) I offered to pay, but he wouldn't take my money.
The down side is, now she knows why the dancing truck drives down our street 8 times a day.
Let the begging commence.
